The steps of the walkthrough

Start hereStorefront

A store, and the business behind it

You will build a brand, walk your own storefront, buy something, and then follow that same order from the other side — through inventory, cash and advertising.

TryPick a brand and walk your own store.

The chain you are about to walk

  1. Storefront
  2. Order
  3. Shipping
  4. Cash
  5. Inventory
  6. Purchasing
  7. Financials
  8. Marketing

This is a guided tour through the heart of the system, not a tour of everything in it. Customer returns, your customer list, pixels and product feeds and more all live in the product beyond this walkthrough.

  • Your brand, on your store

Pick colours and a corner style — the whole storefront is rendered from them, and you walk it as a customer would.

  • One order, all the way through

Buy something, then follow that same order from your side: shipping, the cost it draws from stock, and the cash it eventually becomes.

  • The two moments that decide your numbers

Cost appears when the parcel leaves, not when the order is placed. And delivered money is not yet your money.

Before you start

  • The store is fictional. It is not a real merchant, and it resembles none of ours. It carries our own mark because the store is ours, not a customer’s.
  • The figures are sample data. The behaviour is not — every calculation here is the one the product runs.
  • Nothing is saved. No account, no sign-up, nothing stored. Reload and it starts over.

The demo store's address is on a reserved domain that can never resolve: snapshop.example

Why it works this way

Most commerce demos show a storefront and an orders list, because those are the parts that photograph well. The two moments that actually decide whether a store makes money — when cost appears, and when cash arrives — happen after the sale and are almost never shown. They are the middle of this walkthrough.
